นางกวัก" ถือเป็นวัตถุมงคลทางโชคลาภโภคทรัพย์ที่มีประวัติความเป็นมายาวนาน และเป็นที่เคารพศรัทธาของคนไทยที่สุดชนิดนึง ดั่งที่เราเห็นได้จากตามร้านค้าบ้านเรือน มักมีรูปเคารพของนางกวักตั้งบูชาอยู่แทบทุกหนแห่ง พ่อค้าแม่ขายส่วนใหญ่จะเชื่อถือในอานุภาพของนางกวักเป็นอย่างมาก หลายรายถึงกับบอกว่าที่เขาร่ำรวยเป็นเศรษฐีได้ ก็ด้วยอานุภาพของนางกวักที่บูชาอยู่
ตามตำนานในสมัยพระพุทธกาล...
แม่นางกวัก มีนามว่า สุภาวดี เกิดที่เมือง มัจฉิกาสัณฑ์ เป็นบุตรีของ นางสุมณฑา กับ สุจิตพราหมณ์ ครอบครัวประกอบอาชีพค้าขาย เมื่อครั้งที่บิดาได้เดินทางไปเร่ขายตามต่างถิ่น นางสุภาวดีได้เดินทางติดตามบิดาไปด้วย ทำให้มีโอกาสได้พบ พระกัสสปเถระ และได้รับฟังธรรมเทศนาด้วยความตั้งใจ
พระกัสสปเถระ จึงได้กำหนดจิตเป็นอำนาจจิตพระอรหันต์ และประสิทธิ์ประสาทพรให้นางสุภาวดีและครอบครัว โดยที่ท่านได้ตั้งกุศลจิตอย่างนี้ทุกครั้งที่นางสุภาวดีมาฟังธรรมจนจบอำลากลับ
ครั้นเมื่อเดินทางเดินทางตามบิดาไปอีก ก็ได้มีโอกาสพบกับ พระสิวลี พระอริยสงฆ์ที่กำเนิดมาพร้อมด้วยวาสนา บารมีติดมากับวิญญาณธาตุของท่าน ดังนั้นท่านจึงเป็นผู้มีลาภสักการบูชามาสู่ท่านตลอดเมื่อถึงคราวที่จำเป็นหรือต้องการ
และทุกครั้งที่นางสุภาวดีได้เข้าฟังธรรม พระสิวลีเถระเจ้าได้กำหนดกุศลจิต ประสาทพรให้นางสุภาวดีและครอบครัวเช่นเดียวกันกับ พระกัสสปเถระ ดังนั้นจิตของนางสุภาวดี ได้รับการประสาทพรจากพระอรหันต์ถึงสององค์ ยังผลให้บิดาทำมาค้าขายได้กำไรร่ำรวยไม่เคยขาดทุน
พรที่นางสุภาวดีได้รับ คือ “ขอให้เจริญรุ่งเรืองไพบูลย์ไปด้วยทรัพย์สินเงินทอง จากการค้าขายสินค้าต่าง ๆ สมปรารถนาเถิด” เพราะฉะนั้นจึงทำให้นางสุภาวดี เป็นผู้ “เป็นสิริมงคลอย่างแท้จริง เป็นที่ไหลมาแห่งทรัพย์สมบัติของครอบครัว” เมื่อนางสุภาวีดได้สิ้นชีวิตลง ชาวบ้านจึงได้ปั้นรูปขึ้นมาไว้บูชา ขอให้การค้าเจริญรุ่งเรือง จึงทำให้ความเชื่อนี้สืบมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
นางกวัก นอกจากมีตำนานตามพระพุทธศาสนาแล้ว อีกตำนนานเกิดขึ้นจากปู่เจ้าเขาเขียว ความว่า มีอสูรอยู่ตนหนึ่งพญายักษ์เจ้าเมืองสิงขร นามท้าวอุณราช ซึ่งเป็นสหายกับ ปู่เจ้าเขาเขียว เที่ยวไล่จับมนุษย์กินเป็นอาหาร จึงถูกพระรามแผลงศรปักลงที่อกเพื่อจองจำไว้ในเขาวงพระจันทร์ และได้ทรงสาปไว้ว่า ศรนี้จะคลายลงทุก ๆ สามปี เมื่อศรหลุด ท้าวอุณราช จะฟื้นขึ้นกลับมามีชีวิต
และยังทรงสาปต่ออีกว่า เมื่อใดที่บุตรสาวของ ท้าวอุณราช นามว่า นางนงประจันต์ ทอจีวรเป็นผืนสำเร็จด้วยใยบัว นำไปถวายพระศรีอารยะเมตไตรย พญายักษ์จึงจะพ้นคำสาป บุตรีของพญายักษ์ต้องดูแลบิดา พร้อมกับทอจีวรไปด้วยจึงทำให้ฐานะความเป็นอยู่ลำบากยากจน และยังถูกขัดขวางจากชาวเมืองที่เกลียดชัง
ความรู้เข้าถึง ปู่เจ้าเขาเขียว จึงได้ส่งธิดาผุ้ที่มีรูปโฉมงดงาม มนุษย์เจอก็เสน่หา ไม่เว้นแม้แต่สรพพสัตว์ทั้งหลาย มาอยู่คอยเป็นเพื่อนนางประจันต์ เมื่อนั้นเหตุการณ์ที่ร้ายกลับกลายเป็นดีขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ ชาวเมืองที่เคยเกลียดชังนางประจันต์กลับนำข้าวปลาอาหาร สิ่งของต่าง ๆ มาให้ไม่ขาดสาย
ความเกลียดชังได้มลายหายไป ด้วยเหตุการณ์นี้นางประจันต์ จึงตั้งชื่อธิดาของปู่เจ้าเขาเขียวว่า “นางกวัก” จนต่อมาจึงได้มีการปั้นหุ่น แม่นางกวัก ไว้สำหรับบูชาเพื่อการค้าขาย
นางกวัก กับลักษณะที่ว่าดี
นางกวักจะมีอยู่รูปแบบเดียว คือ ลักษณะในการนั่งพับเพียบ และยกมือขวาขึ้นกวัก แต่จะมีรูปทรงทั้งสมส่วน และอ้วนถ้วนบ่งบอกถึงความสมบูรณ์พูนสุข
ซึ่งลักษณะที่ดีของ #นางกวักล้านนา
ลักษณะการยกมือกวักต้องอยู่ในระดับปาก ซึ่งมีความหมายว่า กินไม่หมด
มวลสารที่นำมาปั้นแม่นางกวักควรที่จะเป็นมวลสารที่เป็นมงคล แม่นางกวักต้องมีหน้าตาที่สวยงามไม่ดุ รูปร่างสมส่วน สมดุล ผู้ที่ต้องการบูชาต้องรู้สึกถูกชะตาเมื่อแรกเห็น
จุดธูปบอกกล่าวให้ค้าขายดี มีลูกค้าเยอะ
(สำหรับน้ำเปล่าให้เปลี่ยนทุกวัน โดยสามารถเอาน้ำเปล่าแก้วเก่า โดยขอจากนางกวักว่า “ขอเอาไปเป็นน้ำมนต์ล้างหน้า เพื่อความเป็นเสน่ห์เมตตา” สามารถนำมาประพรมสินค้าในร้านเพื่อความเป็นมงคลได้ด้วย)

แล้วกล่าวดังนี้
โอมปู่เจ้าเขาเขียวมีลูกสาวคนเดียว ชื่อว่าแม่นางกวัก หญิงเห็นหญิงรัก ชายเห็นชายรัก อยู่ทุกถ้วนหน้า เอหิมามะมะ อาคัจเฉยยะ อาคัจฉาหิ เอหิมามะมะ จะค้าขายก็ขอให้เป็นเศรษฐี หนึ่งปีให้เป็นพ่อค้าสำเภาทอง จะค้าเงินขอให้เงินเข้ามากอง
จะค้าทองขอให้ไหลมาเทมาเต็มบ้านเต็มเรือน จะ
ค้าขายสิ่งหนึ่งประการใด ขอให้ซื้อง่ายขายคล่อง ขอให้ซื้อง่ายขายดี ขอให้เป็นเศรษฐี มหาเศรษฐี

ก่อนออกจากบ้านควรอาราธนานางกวักไปกับเราด้วย หรือหากค้าขายอยู่ที่บ้าน หรือ อาราธนาติดตัว
อธิษฐานขอแม่นางกวัก ให้จุดธูป 5 ดอก
ควรนำ น้ำเปล่า และ พวงมาลัย , ดอกไม้ ถวายแม่นางกวักทุกวันพระ
ของถวายนั้น ไม่จำเป็นต้องถวายทุกวันก็ได้ แต่ควรถวายอย่างน้อย 3-7 วันครั้ง...
การถวาย ให้ถวายเป็นของหวาน หรือ ผลไม้
ไม่ควรอธิษฐาน หรือขอในสิ่งที่เกินจริง หรือเกินกำลัง
มหาโภคทรัพย์ ความอุดมสมบูรณ์ ความกินดีอยู่ดี มีกินมีใช้ เป็นมหาเศรษฐีที่กินอยู่สบาย ดังนั้นครูบาท่านจะเน้นพุทธคุณไปที่ การทำมาหากิน หาเงิน หาทอง ค้าขายดี เจริญเร็ว ขายเร็ว

Items of this age and era are not easy to find nowadays.
Nang Kwak is considered a lucky charm for wealth and prosperity with a long history and is one of the most revered objects of worship in Thailand. As we can see, you often find Nang Kwak statues in shops and homes. Many merchants believe in her power, with some even saying that their wealth came from worshipping the Nang Kwak they venerate.
According to legend from the time of Buddha...
Mae Nang Kwak, whose real name was Supavadee, was born in the city of Machchikasandha. She was the daughter of Sumontha and Sujit Brahmin. Her family were merchants. When her father traveled to different regions to sell his wares, Supavadee accompanied him. This gave her the opportunity to meet the Venerable Kassapa and listen to his sermons with great attentiveness.
The Venerable Kassapa, using his enlightened mind, bestowed blessings upon Supavadee and her family. He continued this practice every time Supavadee came to listen to his sermons before departing.
Later, while traveling with her father, she met the Venerable Sivali, an enlightened monk born with inherent good fortune and merit. Therefore, he always received offerings and veneration whenever needed.
And each time Supavadee listened to his sermons, the Venerable Sivali bestowed blessings upon her and her family, just as he had done with the Venerable Kassapa. Thus, Supavadee's mind... She received blessings from two Arahants (enlightened beings), resulting in her father's business prospering and never experiencing losses.
The blessing Supavadee received was, "May you prosper and flourish with wealth and money from trading various goods, fulfilling all your desires." Therefore, Supavadee was considered "truly auspicious, a source of wealth for the family." After Supavadee's death, the villagers sculpted her image for worship, praying for prosperous businesses, and this belief continues to this day.
Besides the Buddhist legend of Nang Kwak, another legend originates from the spirit of Khao Khiao. The story tells of a demon, the giant king of Singkhon, named Thao Unnarat, who was a friend of the spirit of Khao Khiao. He hunted and ate humans, and was struck in the chest by an arrow from Rama, imprisoning him in Khao Wong Phra Chan (Moon Mountain). Rama cursed him, saying the arrow would loosen every three years, and when it fell out, Thao Unnarat would be revived.
He also continued the curse... When the daughter of King Unaraj, named Nang Prachan, successfully wove a robe from lotus fibers and offered it to the Lord Maitreya, the demon king would be freed from his curse. The demon king's daughter had to care for her father while continuing to weave the robe, leading to hardship and poverty. She also faced opposition from the townspeople who hated her.
Knowing of this, the hermit of Khao Khiao Mountain sent his beautiful daughter, who captivated both humans and animals, to be Nang Prachan's companion. From then on, the situation gradually improved. The townspeople who once hated Nang Prachan began to bring her food and other necessities continuously.
Because of this, Nang Prachan named the hermit's daughter "Nang Kwak" (meaning "beckoning woman"). Later, statues of Nang Kwak were created for worship, believed to bring good fortune in business.
Nang Kwak and her auspicious characteristics:
Nang Kwak is depicted in only one form: seated cross-legged with her right hand raised in a beckoning gesture. She is always well-proportioned. And her plumpness signifies abundance and prosperity.
These are the auspicious characteristics of #NangKwakLanna.
The gesture of raising her hand to beckon should be at mouth level, meaning "never-ending abundance."
The materials used to sculpt Nang Kwak should be auspicious. She must have a beautiful, gentle face, a well-proportioned and balanced figure. Those who wish to worship her should feel an instant connection upon first sight.
Light incense and pray for good business and many customers.
(For the water, change it daily. You can use the old glass of water, asking Nang Kwak, "May I use this as holy water to wash my face for charm and charisma." You can also sprinkle it on your merchandise for good fortune.)
Nang Kwak Mantra: Recite "Namaste" three times.
Then say the following:
"Om, the spirit of Khao Khiao has only one daughter, named Nang Kwak. Women see her and love her, men see her and love her, everywhere. Ehimamamama, Akaccheyya, Akacchaahi, Ehimamamama. May my business prosper and may I become a wealthy merchant within a year, a merchant with a golden ship. May money pour in."
May the gold flow abundantly into my home and boat.
Whatever I trade, may it be easy to buy and sell, may it be easy to buy and sell well, may I become a millionaire, a billionaire.
